When renting a car in the United Arab Emirates with Avantgarde Rent a Car, a set of conditions must be adhered to. Whether you are interested in a vehicle rental for a short or long term, or whether you prefer a tourist or utility vehicle, you are required to provide us with a list of documents and fulfill certain conditions to finalize your reservation.

General :
Promotional rates available online are subject to certain additional terms and conditions.
The renter of the car must be at least 22 years old and hold a valid credit card as well as a valid driver's license. The Company does not guarantee the same brand or model of the reserved car but does guarantee the category. (If the specific car brand/model/group is not available at the pickup location, the company reserves the right to offer an alternative brand/model within the same group or within a higher group.)
The reservation confirmation is automatically canceled if the renter fails to pick up the reserved vehicle at the scheduled time and location.
Unlimited mileage is offered by Avantgarde Rent a Car only within the territory of the United Arab Emirates.
All coverages and additional fees such as Personal Accident Insurance (PAI), Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Super Damage Waiver (SDW), parking or driving fines, fuel and refueling charges, Airport Parking, one-way fees, and baby seats, will be charged extra.
The rented vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel provided, or refueling charges will be applied.
ATTENTION :
Failure to present the aforementioned documents or to obtain prior bank authorization before vehicle handover, or if you do not meet the specified rental requirements at the time of reservation, including, among others, providing incorrect personal information in your reservation, we will be unable to rent a vehicle to you, and the entire prepaid price will remain with Avantgarde. Every driver must have held a valid driver's license for at least 12 months, corresponding to the vehicle category rented, and be over 25 years old (the required age may be higher for certain vehicle categories).
You must provide us, with supporting documents, all necessary information for the establishment of your rental contract, including: your identity (passport or ID) and your driver's license, your address (residence and email), your fixed telephone contacts, and the payment method for your rental. Failure to provide this information will result in the reservation request not being validated. Prior to vehicle handover, a second form of identification will be required by presenting an electricity or telephone bill (landline only) less than three months old confirming your name, first name, and address as you registered them at the time of your reservation, as well as your credit card, the number of which must correspond to the one you provided during your reservation, in order to obtain authorization to cover in advance all additional supplements not included in your reservation, which will be automatically debited upon return of the vehicle in accordance with the provisions of the article.
Credit Card Information :
A credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee the reservation. At the start of the rental, a signed credit card imprint is taken, and pre-authorization will be processed for the amount of the estimated total charges at the commencement of the rental. The credit card and driver's license must be in the name of the person booking the car. Accepted credit cards are as follows: American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Diners Club. All rental-related charges will be billed to the credit card, including rental fees or additional days, optional insurance coverages, any traffic or parking fines, a 15% service charge, toll charges, excess insurance, damages or repair costs, fuel, baby seats, one-way fees, airport parking, or any other charges incurred at any later time relating to the rental agreement. These will be automatically charged to the renter's credit card.
The renter irrevocably agrees to pay and settle all rental car-related fees for Avantgarde Rent A Car before or upon return of the car. In the case of Long-Term Rental, the renter undertakes to settle monthly fees within every 30 days from the scheduled effective date of the agreement; failing which, the renter authorizes the Company to debit the monthly fees to the credit card mentioned in the rental agreement, including all fees for any extensions beyond the lease expiration date, as outlined in the terms and conditions or until the actual return of the vehicle.

Driver's License :
The renter must possess a valid driver's license in their own name from the country of residence for a minimum period of 1 year. Passport holders from the UK, USA, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Austria, Ireland, Spain, Norway, Canada, Poland, Finland, South Africa Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Romania, are permitted to rent a vehicle in the United Arab Emirates while visiting/transiting/tourist visa, based on their original driver's license issued by the aforementioned countries. Visitors from the Republic of Korea, Japan, Turkey, and Greece are required to obtain an English translation of their license from their embassy/consulate here in the United Arab Emirates before renting a vehicle. For passport holders from all other countries, it is mandatory that they must produce a valid International Driving Permit or a temporary driving license from the nearest Traffic Department here in the United Arab Emirates before renting a vehicle. GCC nationals will be required to hold a valid GCC license. For those with a resident visa in the United Arab Emirates, a UAE driving license is mandatory. All license requirements are subject to the prevailing laws of the UAE and are subject to change.
Rental Duration :
Calculation Definition: The customer undertakes to return the vehicle to the lessor on the date and in the contract otherwise he/she will face civil and criminal proceedings as well as billing for late fees. An excess of 179 minutes is granted. A maximum of two (2) hours will be charged. Beyond these five hours, a full day will be charged.
ATTENTION: No fees will be returned for a decrease in the specified period in the contract.
Rental Extension :
The customer must request an extension of the rental from the company at least 48 hours in advance as well as any related arrangements; otherwise, the customer must expose himself/herself to prosecution for vehicle misappropriation and abuse of trust. However, the company reserves the right to refuse the rental extension, without compensation to the customer, as well as the obligation for the immediate return of the vehicle.
End of Rental :
The rental ends with the return of the vehicle, its keys, and papers to the company's counter, to a avant-garde agent displaying a badge. Keys should never be handed over to individuals present in parking lots claiming to be Avantgarde agents. The customer agrees to return the vehicle in a clean internal and external condition; otherwise, he/she will be exposed to cleaning fees (60 AED). The cleanliness of the car will be determined during the vehicle inspection, which will be conducted in your presence by an Avantgarde agent. The vehicle is provided with a minimum of one-quarter (1/4) of fuel, and you must return it in the same condition. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, an additional payment will be charged. We invite you to attend the vehicle inspection upon its return and countersign with one of our agents the inspection report before your departure, so as to jointly identify any damage and avoid any inconvenience for both parties. However, if you decide to leave the parking lot and not wait for the inspection, you will be asked to sign the inspection form in advance, formalizing your agreement to proceed with the vehicle inspection in your absence, and consequently, if any damage is found on your vehicle, if the vehicle is not clean, if the fuel gauge is in reserves, if the allocated mileage is exceeded, we will proceed with the corresponding billing, in accordance with the provisions of article 5. In the event that the vehicle is returned without its key, a flat fee of 500AED will be charged, and if applicable, we will charge the fees upon return of the vehicle in compliance with the provisions of article 5. The owner cannot be held responsible for goods left in the vehicle at the end of the rental.
ATTENTION: Only receipts for the vehicle's return, its documents, and keys by the agent, during agency opening hours, allow the termination of the rental. Reminder: your liabilities remain in place until the end of the contract. Exceptions: in case of confiscation or closure of the vehicle, the lease may be terminated automatically when the lessor is informed by the judicial authorities or the customer. Any use of the vehicle that would harm the owner allows the latter to automatically terminate the contract. In case of theft, the lease ends upon delivery to the company of the complaint filed by the customer to the competent authorities. In case of an accident, the contract ends upon delivery to the company of an accident report filled out by the customer and the concerned third parties.
Definitions and General Concepts :
The price, subject to a partial advance payment, cannot be subject to sale prices or be combined with any other promotional offer. The reservation confirmation with an advance payment is not transferable. The price includes the contractual guarantee in case of damage to the vehicle subject to a non-cancelable amount. (See the CDW Participation Franchise Table). The price paid in advance excludes additional fees that are not expressly mentioned as included in the advance reservation confirmation and additional optional services that the customer must pay for. The same valid credit card must be presented at the Avantgarde counter to pick up the vehicle, and its number must match the one you specified during booking. Maestro, Electron, and Aurora credit cards are not accepted. The customer already commits to the debit of the account corresponding to the credit card used with a non-cancelable amount (see table at the end of the document) and all other fees, including those for damage(s) or theft of the rented vehicle. Customers are responsible for the entire cost of the rental. The renter expressly agrees that failure to pay an invoice on its due date authorizes the lessor to demand the immediate return of the vehicle during the rental.
Car Rental Price :
The rental price is per 24-hour period and includes a package unless express mention of mileage is on the contract. Exceeding this package, the customer will be charged a penalty of (0.3 AED) for each additional kilometer. Any attempt to falsify the vehicle's mileage or any of its accessory parts will be subject to prosecution.
Guarantee: The amount of the deposit depends on, on the one hand, the category of the rented vehicle and on the additional guarantees included in your rate, on the other hand. This deposit is a sum paid in advance for compensation for damage caused to the company. The customer is automatically covered when choosing a rate including contractual guarantees given for contractual damages, a deposit equal to the amount of the non-refundable sum payable by the lessee in the event of damage or theft. The deposit will be confiscated for the benefit of the company for any damage caused to the client and if the vehicle is stolen. In the absence of damage and/or theft, and assuming no supplement is required to return the vehicle, the amount of the deposit actually paid will be refunded at the end of the rental.

Insurance Coverages :
Theft Protection and Liability
Theft protection and liability are included in the price. Renters are informed that in the event of theft/accident and/or damage to the rental car, they must obtain and produce a valid police report according to UAE law. All claims are subject to UAE court verdict.
Super or Collision or Loss Damage Waiver (SDW/CDW/LDW)
Super or Collision or Loss Damage Waiver is an optional waiver of the tenant's liability to pay for damages or loss of use and related costs and expenses arising from a collision or damage to the rented vehicle. The waiver can be purchased at the beginning of the rental and will apply only when listed as an additional charge on the vehicle rental agreement and when supported by a valid police report in the event of any damage or loss caused to the vehicle while it is being used, operated, or driven in accordance with the other terms of the vehicle rental agreement. In the event of any accident or damage, if the renter does not produce an original police report to Avantgarde, he/she will be responsible for all repair and damage costs, including all third-party costs. All insurance and third-party claims shall stand void if not supported by a police report.
Renters are advised that under UAE laws, it is prohibitive to drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances and thus all costs, including any third-party costs, resulting from damage or accident due to the influence of alcohol, drugs, or intoxicating substance will be at the renter's expense. In such a case, all insurances will stand void.
Mileage/Territorial Restrictions :
Unlimited kilometers are provided within the United Arab Emirates only. All lessees are recommended to discuss any driving outside the country with the Company representative at the beginning of the rental.
The Vehicle :
Vehicle Condition: A description of the vehicle's condition is attached to your contract. You agree to record in writing, before leaving the station, any apparent defect. Otherwise, we are deemed to have delivered a vehicle according to the description. We unfortunately cannot examine complaints regarding apparent damage that have not been reported at the time of departure. The vehicle must be returned in the condition you received it. All repair costs resulting from the tenant's fault will be charged to the rental cost, subject to the provisions of the 'Optional Contractual Guarantees' section.
Vehicle Use: You may never drive the vehicle anywhere other than in the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. In accordance with the principle that penalties are personal, you are responsible for violations or serious infractions committed during the rental period. Thus, we inform you that your details may be communicated to law enforcement agents and judicial authorities upon request. You agree to use the vehicle in a proper manner, without being under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or any other substance likely to affect your performance in accordance with the provisions of the Highway Code and to use it for its intended purpose, which for a particular vehicle is primarily the transportation of persons free of charge and for a commercial vehicle, primarily the transportation of goods. We draw particular attention to the dimensions of commercial vehicles which require increased attention for certain maneuvers (e.g., reversing) and may make it impossible for you to use certain roads, the maximum height of which is governed (tunnels, bridges, etc.) by regulations, reported in advance.
ATTENTION: in case of misjudgment of the vehicle's dimensions. High body shock and low body shock are not covered by the damage warranty, except in cases of proven "force majeure." You are not to use the particular vehicle rented for hire and for the transportation of persons for remuneration and for transporting a number of passengers greater than that indicated on the vehicle registration, to participate in gatherings, competitions, or tests, anywhere, to give driving lessons, to push or tow another vehicle (except vehicles equipped with a hook - maximum load 1000 kg) on unpaved roads whose surface or maintenance condition presents risks to the vehicle's tires or underbody parts, and to commit an intentional offense. Goods, including baggage carried in the vehicle, including their packaging and securing, must not damage the vehicle or pose unreasonable risks to its occupants. When you park the vehicle, even for a short stop, you agree to shut off the vehicle's engine.
Accidents/Damage to the Vehicle's Engine :
In the event of any accident or damage, the tenant must not remove the vehicle without informing the police and obtaining a police report. In the event of any accident or damage, the tenant will be responsible for settling the excess insurance amount indicated on the rental contract provided a police report is submitted.
Failure to obtain a police report will render the tenant responsible for all damages and repair costs including loss of use as the insurance company will not compensate the Company without this report.
Unless incompatible with the context herein, the term 'motor vehicle' refers to the motor vehicle hereby hired and described on sheets with all accessories related thereto.
The lessee acknowledges that the vehicle has been delivered to him in good and running condition by the Company with the air conditioning working properly and that the vehicle's radiator tank and oil were full. The lessee agrees:
to use and maintain the vehicle and, at the end of the rental period, to return it to the Company in the same good and running order and condition as when it was handed over to him.
To maintain water and sufficient oil in the vehicle.
While the vehicle is in his/her possession, to provide all necessary petrol and oil to keep the vehicle operational at his/her own expense.
The lessee agrees to deliver the vehicle to the Company after every 5000 Kms for lubrication service or if the lessee fails to do so, to satisfy the company that such service has been duly carried out every 5000 Kms.
To redeliver the vehicle to the Company with its petrol and oil tanks full.
To indemnify the company for all losses including the loss that the Company may suffer due to his/her failure to comply with his/her obligations in terms of this clause.
In the event of mechanical breakdown occurring to the vehicle itself during the rental period, the lessee must immediately deliver the vehicle to the Company for repairs. The lessee acknowledges that he/she will bear the cost of repair work or have it carried out by hand by him without the prior consent of the Company.
If the vehicle is damaged in any way during the term of this agreement:
The company has the right to immediately take possession of the vehicle and have any necessary repair work carried out, without prejudice to any right the Company may have against the lessee for damages. In such a case, the rental period is deemed to continue and the lessee is obliged to pay the basic rent to the Company until the repairs have been completed.
If the damage is of any peril against which the vehicle is insured, the lessee is liable for the amount of such damages up to a maximum amount as mentioned on the vehicle rental contract provided, however, if the compensation in respect of such damage cannot be recoverable in law or if the company, in its sole discretion, decides that such compensation is not economically recoverable from any other person, the lessee will be required to pay to the Company the full amount of compensation.
The lessee undertakes to indemnify the Company against any claims whatsoever and howsoever arising which may be made against the Company resulting from the use of the vehicle or the manner of its driving while it is in the lessee's possession in terms of this agreement.
The lessee warrants and undertakes that:
he/she is duly licensed to drive the vehicle.
he/she will present his license to the Company when required by the company.
no person who is not duly licensed will drive the vehicle.
Neither he/she nor any other person will use the vehicle for racing, towing, competition of any kind, or for the transportation of goods or the transportation of passengers for remuneration or in the ordinary course of business.
None of the objects that may cause damage to the vehicle or its upholstery shall be transported in the vehicle.
The vehicle will not be used to transport alcoholic beverages, drugs, or other contraband items or any other item prohibited by law.
The lessee will not during the period of the rental sublet the vehicle, nor part with the possession thereof.
The lessee must immediately inform the company of any fault in the vehicle or any accident in which he is involved or if the vehicle is stolen and must further, in such case fill in such forms as may be required by the company and generally assist the company in any claim that the Company may take against its insurers arising out of such accident or theft.
The lessee warrants and represents that all information provided by him and the statements made on the vehicle rental agreement are true and accurate and the Vehicle Rental Agreement is concluded on the faith of these representations.
If the lessee commits a breach of any provision of this Agreement or any person should during the rental period use the vehicle in a manner which the Company considers prejudicial to its rights and interests therein, the Company shall be entitled to forthwith cancel this agreement and resume possession of the vehicle without prejudice to the Company's rights to claim rental charges due in terms of this agreement and/or damages.
The lessee shall be liable for any loss and damage to the vehicle and any other loss to third parties or damage caused by the realization/transportation of contraband goods or other items prohibited by law and for committing an unlawful act/omission under the laws of the United Arab Emirates or the laws of any other countries, where the vehicle is used by the lessee on hire.
The Company shall not be liable for the lessee's personal effects left in the car.
The lessee is responsible for the value of the vehicle in case of theft due to his negligence (failure to lock the vehicle, keeping the key in the vehicle, etc.)
Delivery Policy:
in accordance with UAE law never to deal with or provide services or products to any OFAC sanctioned countries.
